CAREER CONSULTING

For individuals, we help get careers back on track–especially after layoffs.  Through our executive coaching partners, we provide coaching for executives who have now found themselves displaced and in need of a new direction.   Together with our partners, we help you identify your true desires, talents, skills, and abilities and put a plan in place to get “from here” to “there.”  Our executive coaches are all certified through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and are true professionals in helping individuals navigate career and life transitions.  Additionally, at RPC we’re providers of leadership, HR, and professional development training programs, and we offer our programs on a 1:1 basis through individual coaching programs.  If you have been involved in a reduction-in-force and are now out of work, it is understandable to harbor some resentment and even fear about a career transition.  It is a challenging time and the longer the period of unemployment–the greater the chances of procrastination and a lack of motivation to set in.  This is dangerous to career advancement, as it takes personal motivation to make positive life changes.

However, many individuals simply feel “stuck” and can’t seem to move forward after a career setback.  Through our coaching, we can help you get “unstuck.”  Additionally, through our professional development training, we can assist in development of positive behaviors through courses such as Understanding Behavioral Styles, Conflict Dynamics, Assertive Communication Skills for Professionals, Contemporary Leadership, and many others.  Our motto is “knowledge builds confidence”and with our help you can acquire the  knowledge and skills necessary to improve your performance during a career transition.  And, to get you on the right track in progressing your career vs. feeling as though you’re stuck in 2nd gear.

Our approach to career management consulting begins by assessing your current situation.  We will determine whether or not executive coaching is an appropriate first step.  For some of our clients, particularly those who have been in the same field for many years, we often hear comments such as, “I just don’t want to go back to banking…” or “I’ve been doing this for 15 years…I need a change.”  Or, “there just aren’t any jobs in my industry since the recession…”  In those instances, we strongly recommend beginning an engagement with an executive coach.   One of our coaches will assess the situation, identify realistic time-frames for a career and life transition, and will help you in setting your “life compass” to the right heading.  From there, one of our coaches can pick up the process to help align specific skills and competencies with various career paths in order to help narrow a job search.   If you are simply in need of a new resume or assistance with a job search, we recommend working with our professional resume writer, Louise Garver.  Louise is a certified professional resume writer and is an affiliate partner with RPC.  She has been published in books such as Knock ‘Em Dead Resumes and is a long-standing member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers.  She has the knowledge, skills, and experience to help you market yourself more effectively in the current job market–and to get the phone to ring for interviews.   For more information about our Career Consulting services, please give us a call at (561) 208-6480.
