We can also create customized packages, unique to each client. As an example, we can provide short-term HR help to assist with a recruiting event, help interview applicants, provide assistance with a workplace investigation, or provide outplacement training and assistance during a reduction-in-force.
Many smaller employers can’t afford the overhead cost of increasing HR staff. However, as the company grows and employee headcount increases, so does the complexity of compliance obligations with labor and employment laws. The fines and legal costs for one compliance error can be devastating to a small business. As an example, a small 18-employee landscaping company in Tampa was forced to pay a settlement of over $100,000 to settle a wage and hour claim brought on by–just one employee. The employee was disgruntled, called the Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division, and before the employer knew it, he had to hire an attorney to assist in handling the employee’s claim that the landscaping workers were being paid incorrectly and violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
